Award-winning hotel, Langham Place, Mongkok, Hong Kong is delighted to announce the appointment of Desmond Shiu as new Executive Pastry Chef. Chef Desmond began his career with great passion for chocolate and desserts. Heralding over 20 years of experience in the pastry kitchens of many luxury hotels, Chef Desmond joins Langham Place Hotel to oversee all patisserie operations and lead the pastry team to create artistic, innovative desserts and a vision to surprise and build sweet memories for his guests.
Prior to joining Langham Place, Chef Desmond held Pastry Chef positions at The Peninsula Hong Kong, The Upper House, Harbour Grand Kowloon, Regal Hong Kong Hotel and The Kowloon Hotel.

In addition to running the pastry division for the hotel, Chef Desmond is currently developing the new selection of desserts for the reopening of all-day dining restaurant, The Place, in May.
When out of kitchen, Chef Desmond enjoys cooking for his family. He is also a keen sports fan, swims and cycles in his leisure time.
