Rare Exhibition of Paul Cezanne’s Painting ‘La Vie des Champs’
at Macey & Sons Central Gallery for one-night only
February 6th 2018
(Hong Kong, February 2, 2018) -- Leading Hong Kong boutique auctioneer and gallery Macey & Sons, continues to raise its profile as a specialist in rare and high-end art along with luxury collectables, with the appearance of a rarely-seen Cezanne painting ‘La Vie des Champs’ (valued at US$1.2m-1.8m) this week which is in Hong Kong for the first time prior to its upcoming auction with Freeman’s in Philadelphia this spring.
The Cezanne painting will be exhibited at Macey & Son’s Central Lot88 gallery for just one-day-only on Tuesday February 6th at a private-viewing for clients, collectors and art aficionados as well as by-appointment.
Thereafter, the Cezanne will move to Asia World Expo [AWE] for two days from February 8-10 where Macey & Sons is making its debut as the official “art partner” of EEM World - organizer of the annual show-jumping spectacular ‘Longines Masters of Hong Kong 2018’ which attracts the world’s top riders and horses to Hong Kong in February each year.
The Macey & Sons Gallery at the Longines Masters’ Prestige Village promises to enthrall visitors and art fans with a “not-to-be-missed” exhibition of rare masterpieces headlined by the rarely-seen Cezanne. Other featuring works that are usually only seen in museums include China’s most renowned artists Qi Bashi and Lin Fengmian, English Romantic painter J. M. W. Turner, John Constable and Jean Duffy, as well as works by contemporary Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei and distinguished female artist and mother of Hong Kong politician Anson Chan, Fang Zhaoling who studied under the prodigious Chinese artist Zhang Daqian, who will also be showcased at the exhibition.
Showcasing the range of talent Macey & Sons represents while echoing a strong equestrian theme; the exhibition will also include highlights from Asia's A-list hair stylist, Kim Robinson with “Wild Horses 1 & 2”, Chinese visual artist Pu Zuo’s “Horses” and contemporary British artist Allan Banford with a collection of fine art abstract paintings, some featuring horses.
An exhibition of luxury collectables including a 16.6ct diamond will also be among the highlights of Macey & Sons’ exhibition as this sought-after sporting and social event February 9-11.
