May and June are months to celebrate the unconditional love of hardworking parents as well as join in the traditions of the Dragon Boat Festival. Four Seasons Hotel Hong Kong offers a variety of indulgent spa journeys to bring total relaxation to both moms and dads. Moms and daughters can bond over pretty coloured fingers and toes with Luxury Manicures for Mom and Jellybean Manicures designed just for stylish little girls.
Meanwhile in the Lung King Heen kitchen, Executive Chinese Chef Chan Yan Tak and his team are handcrafting limited quantities of classic abalone glutinous rice dumplings as well as new interpretations of this Dragon Boat Festival classic for guests to take away, and take home a taste of this three Michelin Star restaurant in Hong Kong.
Moms Get Present
Busy Mom deserves a break, a chance to leave behind the diapers and buzzing iPhones to take a moment to reconnect with herself at the Spa at Four Seasons. Regional Spa Director Shoshana Weinberg had people like this multitasking mom in mind when she developed a complete half day experience, Be Present Day of Beauty, designed to centre one’s thoughts, open chakras, and let the tension melt away.
The journey to the present begins with a traditional Ayurvedic healing ritual known as Shirodhara. A slow stream of warm nourishing oil is poured onto the third eye, an area in the centre of the forehead, stimulating the crown chakra and soothing the nervous system. Deepening the transition to total relaxation, the soothing oil is then worked into the scalp with a therapeutic head massage. With the head in a deep state of release, the therapist continues on to the abdominal area where a stimulating poultice is applied working to eliminate toxins and water retention trapped in the core. Finally, specialised Biologique Recherche body oils are employed to perform a full body lymphatic drainage massage, working to dissolve localised fat, purify and tone the body.
After the intensive pampering session, guests will be escorted to the alfresco Pool Terrace for a healthy two-course lunch. As beauty also comes from within, Executive Chef Herve Fucho leads his team to create healthy choices for health conscious guests. Light options include grilled chicken and green olive skewers, crushed avocado toast, shrimp pad thai and detox salad. This half-day solo escape is available for HKD 4,300 during off-peak periods and HKD 4,700 on peak periods.
Doing Right by Dad
Moms aren’t the only ones who deserve a little time out. For deserving dads, the Spa at Four Seasons offers two gifts catering to some of a man’s favourite indulgences: massage and whiskey.
Dads who want to take relaxation to a whole new level are sure to enjoy the Unwind and Sip. The treatment begins with a 60 minute Deep Tissue Massage where Four Seasons signature oils are used to address Dad’s specific needs through aromatherapy. The treatment then moves to a leather massage chair in the new luxury Nail Bar. Dad can kick back and relax with a 30 minute manicure and a 30 minute pedicure sipping a glass of whiskey while watching the light play off the waters of Victoria Harbour. Whiskey flavours are quite distinct from one another; therefore the Spa offers three classic brands for dads to choose from: Johnny Walker Black Label, The Macallan 12 year and The Glenlivet 12 year.
For a dad hoping to relax and look his best, youthful self, the Energise and Recharge treatment is just the thing. Here the 60 minute Deep Tissue Massage is coupled with a 60 minute Triple Action Facial. The facial is performed using Ling, an American brand known for superlative results and East meets West skincare philosophies. The Triple Enzyme cleanser contains pineapple enzymes, crushed almonds and honey, which aid to exfoliate dead cells, abrade impurities and sooth and soften skin. An instant oxygen recovery mask is applied to revive dull and tired skin leaving Dad loose, limber, and entirely refreshed.

Fancy Pancy Fingers
Children grow up fast, and therefore busy moms want to take the time to savour every moment with their precious little ones. Visit the Nail Bar for matching mother-daughter manicures and pedicures, where seasoned therapists can paint little girls' fingers and toes in every shade of the rainbow with the Jelly Bean Manicure and Pedicure, specially designed with little girls in mind.
The Nail Bar carries two eco-friendly polishes from Azature and Deborah Lippmann - they are paraben, paraffin silicone and sulphate free. Mothers will feel safe for their little ones to wear even even the brightest, most sparkly shades.
While hands and feet are transformed, a beverage of choice is served with compliments of the Nail Bar. Mom can order a decadent glass of Champagne and young girls can sip on smoothies made from fresh fruits.

Three Michelin Star Glutinous Rice Dumplings
The Dragon Boat Festival, or Tuen Ng, has transformed from an ancient tradition paying homage to a poet to a modern international stage for Dragon Boat racing. Similarly, Executive Chinese Chef Chan Yan Tak continues to bring traditions into the modern day with his unique twists on glutinous rice dumplings, the traditional Tuen Ng snack. This year, Chef Tak introduces a sweet mini dumpling using taro and red bean. Mildly sweet and rich in fibre, it is a healthy treat particularly when paired with the subtly floral osmanthus jam. This new dumpling flavour comes in a gift set paired with mini termite mushroom, pork belly, and red bean dumplings and a box of premier oolong tea.
All dumplings are handmade by chefs in the Lung King Heen kitchen and are produced in limited quantities.
