LAST CHANCE TO RESERVE YOUR SEAT FOR WINE EDUCATION WEEK’S CHINA LAUNCH
WSET to celebrate its 50th anniversary with wine education events across China from September 9-15
WSET’s Wine Education Week is almost here! Whether you’re a novice or knowledgeable, mad for Merlot or puzzled by Pinot, this global event promises to be a week of wine discovery for all wine lovers. Taking place from 9-15 September 2019, Wine Education Week marks the 50th anniversary of the Wine & Spirit Education Trust(WSET), the largest global provider of wine, spirits and sake qualifications. This weeklong worldwide program celebrates the diversity, taste and culture of the world of wine, and wine lovers in China will have the opportunity to take part as well.
On September 9, Wine Education Week will kick off with events in major cities across China. In Shanghai, for instance, wine enthusiasts are invited to gather together with Wine Missionary for a cocktail reception followed by a fun and insightful education session hosted by wine expert, consultant and WSET Certified Educator Terry Xu. Mr. Xu will be sharing his valuable insights on pairing wine with food. He will be throwing in a few games and prizes for good measure as well.
Similar launch events will also be hosted by The Tasting Annex in Shenzhen and AWSEC in Guangzhou. For the rest of the week, these launches will then be followed by over 100 events hosted by WSET’s approved program providers in cities across China, from Xiamen to Xi’an to Nanjing.
Set up in 1969 and celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2019, WSET is the largest global provider of qualifications in the field of wines, spirits and sake.
WSET offers qualifications across four levels, from one-day beginner courses through to an expert level diploma. Courses are available in more than 15 languages and over 70 countries and are open both to industry professionals and interested enthusiasts.
WSET is recognised as an awarding organisation by Ofqual, the English regulator of qualifications and examinations. All WSET qualifications have a strong reputation worldwide as the industry standard for knowledge.
In the last academic year (2018/19) over 100,000 candidates sat for a WSET qualification, and since 1969, WSET has awarded nearly one million individuals a WSET qualification.
