The Dolder Grand is the most prestigious address in Zurich for pleasure, exclusivity and relaxation as the city prepares to celebrate the festive season.
For winter sports enthusiasts, Zurich is under two hours from Switzerland’s most famous ski resorts, including Klosters, a favourite with the British Royal Family; quaint Andermatt; Lenzerheide, known for its buzzing après ski scene; picturesque Grindelwald beneath the towering Eiger; Davos, St Anton and glamorous St Moritz.
Charming Zurich is also famous for glittering Christmas markets, from the traditional Zürcher Wienachtsdorf Christmas Village in front of the Opera House beside Lake Zurich to the trendy, modern Heiliger Bimbam! with vintage finds and artisan products against the backdrop of pumping dance music.
Another highlight of the Zurich festive season is the annual Lichterschwimmen, with countless sparkling candle ships launched on the Limmat river on December 22.
With a grandstand view over the glittering city, Lake Zurich and the snow-capped Swiss Alps, the Dolder Grand is also famed for its exclusive spa, dating back to the hotel’s origins as a “Curhaus”.
Dolder Grand Managing Director Mark Jacob said: "Christmas is always a magical time at the Dolder Grand with our amazing views overlooking the snow-covered city below. Christmas time is very cosy and festive, with all the traditional decorations, open fireplaces, afternoon tea and ice-skatin in the snow outside. It’s an unforgettable luxury experience with a wonderful array of Christmas activities and surprises.“
Switzerland is one of the most popular destinations in Europe for Chinese tourists, and is the 4th most important tourism market after Germany, the United States and UK. Chinese visitors enjoy Switzerland’s majestic Alpine scenery, ski-ing and luxury shopping, especially watches.
