(Hong Kong, 6 August 2018) Armani/Privé's Central rooftop location is a mainstay for the city's in-crowd. With the temperature on the rise, Armani/Privé have come up with a clever way to keep things cool. The Summer Mirage cocktail collection introduces a series of drinks poured over shaved-ice or gelato, Japanese kakigōri and Italian affogato style. Available exclusively for HK$155* from now until 30 October 2018, Armani/Privé mixologists present five refreshing cocktails to help guests select the perfect summer rooftop tipple.
Traditional Kakigōri dates back to 11th century Japan and is the quintessential Japanese summertime dessert. Crafted by carving a block of pure ice into a frozen mountain of finely shaved ice, kakigōri has a uniquely smooth consistency and is often stacked high with decadent homemade syrups and toppings that champion flavour and freshness. Italy has its own modern twist; fusing bittersweet coffee and creamy gelato. Classic affogato drowns rich vanilla gelato with hot expresso offering a luscious contrast of temperatures and textures for caffeine connoisseurs.
Armani/Privé's master mixologist presents pure theatre with two indulgent kakigōri cocktails; sculpting the perfect shavings of ice before shaking or stirring to your liking. The Coco Matcha is a vibrant green cocktail; balancing sweet rum with 70% cacao dark chocolate, pineapple and matcha green tea sourced from Japan. Served on top of fine, snow-like ice in an exotic, handmade coconut bowl.
Dolce Niente blends Port wine with coconut milk and sweet Italian Amaretto poured over fine shavings of refreshing ice to deliver a rich nut aroma and thick creamy texture. Finished with a dash of toasted sesame and almonds Armani/Privé uses traditional Italian liqueurs to produce a velvety, yet delicate cocktail which is the perfect start to the weekend.
An ode to Italy's long hot summers, Armani/Privé's three affogato cocktails hero classic Italian ingredients. Art Basil is a vodka-based cocktail featuring fragrant basil topped with lime and refreshing pineapple juice. Bold and unexpected this cocktail is presented to the table in a coffee dripper containing Italian-style homemade green tea gelato that will drip and infuse vibrant aromas and colour into this stunning elixir.
The ultimate indulgence for sweet tooth and coffee lovers, Wild Fairy is a lively rum-based cocktail shaken with Kahlua and a double shot of Italian espresso. Served in an ice-chilled stylish sake carafe, guests are invited to pour this potion over vanilla gelato which is dusted with dried strawberries.
Paying tribute to Italian Summers would not be complete without an Aperol aperitif. With its sunset hues, Armani/Privé's Visions of Aperol cocktail is served in a tall, elegant glass presenting the classic combination of sparkling wine and the pleasant bitterness of Aperol, muddled with orange marmalade for added sweetness. The twist is a scoop of refreshing yuzu gelato providing a complementary flavour and effervescent touch to this chic, Italian classic.
