Henley Executive Hedge Fund Program Hires Dow Jones Veteran Hemavathi to Drive Asia Expansion

Hong Kong, 21st September 2016 – After minting dozens of hedge-fund-ready professionals in Hong Kong, the Henley Executive Hedge Fund Program now has its sights set on Tokyo and Singapore.

Inflection Point Intelligence, in collaboration with Henley Business School will launch its world-class course for financial-services professionals in the fourth quarter, offering new students in new markets the same holistic, hands-on understanding of hedge funds that it began providing in Hong Kong last year.

The program is both educational, aiming to help those looking to move from the sell side to the buy side, and vocational, for those seeking to join or start a hedge fund.

Spearheading the program’s regional expansion is Vanessa Hemavathi. The new program director joins from Dow Jones, where she was handling commercial partnerships and business development in Asia for The Wall Street Journal. The native Singaporean will be based in Hong Kong, where she moved in July 2015.

“I am excited about the opportunity to lead the expansion of the program and to work with industry partners to educate professionals in this three trillion-dollar industry. The uniqueness of this program, in having current industry experts share their practical knowledge and experiences with participants, is a key driver of the program’s success,” said Hemavathi.

With workshops conducted one weekend per month for six months, participants can look forward to practical, hands-on advice from well-regarded and successful hedge fund experts. The program offers a blend of modules and workshops to address key topics, such as pitch book formative, investor relations, compliance and fund-pitching.

Program graduates say the course provided exactly what they needed to make a leap into a new career.

Universities typically emphasize portfolio and risk management and are ill-equipped to explain how the various components interact to make hedge funds successful. With that in mind, Inflection Point Intelligence and Henley designed a well-rounded, holistic program for participants to broaden their practical knowledge and approach the business from different perspectives.

“We found that many in the hedge fund community only knew their own area of expertise.
