How Big Data Being Well Architected and Utilized in E-Commerce
On 2nd November, Lingnan University & Smart City Consortium co-hosted Executive E-Commerce and FinTech Conference for Hong Kong Enterprises in Zero-Carbon Building in Kowloon Bay. Dr. Peter Kwan, co-founder & COO of Big Data Architect Ltd., was honorably invited to give a speech on How Big Data Being Well Architected and Utilized in E-Commerce in the conference, which received a loud applause afterward.
During the speech, Dr. Kwan briefly talked about the trends of e-commerce, comparing Hong Kong with Mainland China and other regions. Then he analyzed mobile shopping behaviors and illustrated how e-commerce platform acquired and utilized data to optimize supply chain, recommend products, up-sell and cross-sell, and retain customers. His explanation of theories was demonstrated by vivid case sharing from companies like Easysize and BlueYonder. Easysize analyzes customer’s orders and returns and matches the proper size with a particular customer. BlueYonder utilized data such as locations, shopping history, weather etc. to offer product recommendations to customers.
