HONG KONG – November 22nd, 2019 - The world of presents for your tech-savvy offspring can be a minefield, but this year’s Christmas offerings from London STEM toy creators Tech Will Save Us, promise to appeal to budding scientists and rock stars alike. Featuring its best-selling Electro Dough kit new series - Electro Dough Story Kit, Electro Dough Fantasy Kit and Electro Dough Project Kit, and three new kits - Electro Guitar Kit, Record + Remix Kit and Synth Wave Kit, these new kits are designed to introduce kids to the world of tech through imagination and fun, hands-on play.
Evolved from the best-selling Electro Dough kit, these three new kits are multi-design projects based on teaching kids how to make electronic circuits using conductive, squishy dough. Aimed at ages 4+, the kits take kids on a creative journey, where they determine what happens next. Ideal for family time at the kitchen table, the kits help foster kids’ imaginations, as well as developing their creative thinking and decision-making skills. Each kit has accompanying step-by-step video manuals and oodles of project ideas to get stuck into. Kids can also access more projects online to fuel repeat play, earning badges by completing challenges.
Story time will never be the same again with this inventive kit. Kids create their own magical tales with fantastical lit-up dough creatures. Set in 3D pop-up scenery, kids will love being able to bring their own creations to life by following narrated stories and learning how to create interactive circuits along the way. This is the perfect kit to boost kids’ confidence and further develop verbal & communication skills through storytelling, allowing kids the freedom to express themselves and their interactive characters.
This kit unleashes creativity and imagination with role-play at its core. Kids create fun light-up dough creatures using a wide selection of pop-out card designs, different dough colours and circuit tools. The multitude of combinations really supercharge kids’ imaginations and critical thinking skills. Kids will learn about conductivity and insulators, as well as being encouraged to think about the emotions and feelings of their creations; a key skill for kids of this age group. Can they create a creature that is happy? How will they go about this?
An exciting open-ended play and creativity experience centred around a series of short and easy projects that teach kids about lights, circuits and sounds. All come with a challenge, allowing kids to personalise their creation and make it their own at the end. Inspired by all the amazing projects kids made with the very first Electro Dough Kit (launched in 2012), and with 20+ projects at their fingertips, kids will love being given free rein to really explore and express their creative thinking. This kit includes a wide range of tech tools including pop-out templates, buzzers and lights.
Designed for music lovers, the kits (aimed at ages 8+) take kids on a musical journey, sparking their interest and understanding every step of the way. Covering music production, sound engineering and the nitty-gritty of how electronic components work, kids can transform their learning from complete beginner through to playing, recording and sharing their very first soundbite or tune. Step-by-step making instructions and easy-to-follow online videos ensure the science and technology behind each project is fully brought to life. Kids can then record, layer and share tunes in the online recording studio.
Kids can develop their musicianship and knowledge of electronic string instruments with this exciting plug ‘n’ play music kit. Building their own cardboard guitar and amplifier (yes, really), kids will learn how to make it electric, as well as how to add effects and produce their own tracks. This fun project even teaches the basics of how to play an electric guitar... rock on!
This kit introduces kids to the world of music engineering, where they’ll learn how to build a sound sampler and produce music tracks. Once assembled, the easy-to-use remix module enables kids to create a range of sounds and beats. In combination with the online recording studio, they’ll be able to record, layer and share their musical creations with friends and family. Teaching how sound waves work and how changing the frequency changes the pitch, this kit encourages kids to really experiment and enjoy hands-on interaction with music.
The Synth Wave Kit aims to stimulate kids’ improvisation skills by playing with sound waves to create electronic music. The easy-to-use synth sequencer module enables kids to create and control sound waves which can be recorded, layered and shared using the accompanying online recording studio. Kids can programme their own musical patterns into the arpeggiator and really begin to understand the world of synthesising!
All six kits are now available on www.minifab.com.hk , out just in time for Christmas, the kits make perfect presents for kids interested in creative technology and will appeal to parents, aunts, uncles, grandparents and godparents alike who will love that they are inspiring the inventors of tomorrow!
