(Hong Kong, 18 Jan, 2019) The team behind award-winning Middle Eastern restaurant FRANCIS are opening their second restaurant, Mr Brown, in February, just a short stroll away from FRANCIS on Ship Street.

Mr Brown will be an intimate 60-seat grill and smokehouse with Head Chef Asher Goldstein bringing together his passion for barbecue and culinary influences from the Mediterranean, creating a barrage of explosive flavours. From homemade breads and butters to fish, meat and seasonal vegetables,
Mr Brown will continue the group’s commitment to source the very best ingredients, cooked simply with imagination and love.

Sommelier Simone Sammuri will take care of the drinks, with a selection of international craft beers and a carefully curated selection of his favourite small wine producers.

Appropriately stripped back, a show kitchen and central bar is surrounded by charred woods, terracotta brickwork and steel elements, with the lighting low, volume high and eclectic art throughout.  The warm buzzy venue features a raised platform at the back of the space, offering semi-private dining in four intimate booths.

In just over a year of operation, FRANCIS has become one of Hong Kong’s hottest tables, garnering numerous awards and accolades, and owner-operators James Ward, Asher Goldstein and Simone Sammuri were named “Restaurateur of the Year” by T Dining. Mr Brown will continue their commitment to offering high quality food and drink in a lively environment at affordable prices.

“Like FRANCIS, Mr Brown is a place where you’ll be able to enjoy really good food and wine without breaking the bank” says manager and founder, James Ward. “Because this is a larger space, we will be taking reservations, though we will also keep space for walk-ins.”

Mr Brown anticipates firing up the grill from late February, evenings only at first, seven days a week.
