Beaujolais Nouveau day has become an international celebration of the release of Beaujolais Nouveau yearly cuvée – a fruity red wine from Beaujolais in the Burgundy region of France.
博若萊新酒節的盛行源於一年發佈一次的cuvée酒──產自法國中部布根地的紅酒。法國有法例規定,這個一年一度的發佈會必須要在十一月第三個星期四的凌晨12時01分舉行。
Regulated by the French law - yes, it is as important as it sounds -, the annual release of this wine takes place at precisely 12.01 am on the third Thursday of November.
The liberation of the young red wine, also known as 'vin de primeur', made with Gamay grapes harvested just six weeks before bottling is accompanied by festivities, fireworks, and party everywhere in the world, from the city of Beaujeu to New York, passing by Tokyo or London!
But how a simple wine originally drunk by local vignerons experienced such a world-wide fame?
During the 50's, wine makers began competing each year in a race to deliver the first bottles to Paris. In the 1970s, winemaker and businessman Georges Duboeuf, saw the potential of the festivities associated with the release of the Beaujolais Nouveau and started to publicize the wine and its associated tradition. The first banners proclaiming, “Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!” (The Beaujolais Nouveau has arrived!) became commonplace and, the day of its release, one of the biggest parties of the year!
This year, Cheese Club and Pastis Group are bringing the festivities in town! Hongkongers will have the opportunity to taste and celebrate the Beaujolais Nouveau on Thursday 17th only in 5 French restaurants (Metropolitain, Nissa La Bella, Café Claudel, Eiffel Bistro, Pastis) offering special packages for the occasion!
For the ones who can’t make it, or who prefer to celebrate at home, they can still order their Beaujolais Nouveau 2022 bottles on Cheese Club’s website, starting Saturday 12th for a delivery from 17th of November onward.

這款紅酒亦稱為'vin de primeur',由佳美葡萄釀製。從收割到釀製再到入瓶只是6個星期的時間。博若萊新酒節由法國的博热傳去紐約、倫敦甚至東京。人們會開派對和放煙花來慶祝這個節日。
為什麼一支本來由本地人飲用的酒會成為一個全球的慶典?
五十年代期間,釀酒師每年都會彼此競爭將第一批酒運到巴黎。到了七十年代,釀酒師及商人佐治杜寶夫看到博若萊新酒的商機,決定公開宣傳這款紅酒及其傳統。它的第一幅宣傳橫額寫著“Le Beaujolais Nouveau est arrivé!”意思是博若萊新酒到來了。從此,博若萊新酒節便成為了法國其中一個重要的慶典。
今年,Cheese Club和Pastis Group將把這個慶典帶來香港。大家在11月17日將可在五間法國餐廳 (Metropolitain, Nissa La Bella, Café Claudel, Eiffel Bistro, Pastis) 品嘗博若萊新酒和慶祝這個節日。屆時,餐廳將會推出一系列的特別套餐。
無法出席或者想在家中慶祝的,可以由11月12日開始,在Cheese Club網站購買博若萊新酒,最早可選11月17日送貨。
