Like in Hong Kong, family time in France is très important. With this in mind and Mid-Autumn Festival fast approaching, La Petite Maison’s Chef Maurizio Pace offers the perfect sharing experience for groups and families this mid-Autumn season.
Dishes with warming accents and with a selection of seasonal Autumnal ingredients will be served in the convivial dining destination – an ideal place for groups or families enjoying celebrations this September. What’s more, limited edition La Petite Maison French-style mooncakes are also available on the dessert menu from 2 – 14th September.
Taking inspiration from the South of France’s family style dining, dishes are fresh, simple and served ‘à la minute’ (when they are ready) and are ideal for sharing. For September, dishes selected for the month of celebrations include:
The Pumpkin Risotto with Mushroom, Sage and Pecorino Cheese (HKD198) is a vibrant yellow that resembles the moon when served. Chef marries simple and seasonal pumpkin with cep mushrooms and sprigs of fresh sage and shavings of Pecorino Cheese. Sage, often used in Mediterranean cooking, is adds pine-like aroma and earthy flavour.
A show-stopper on the table and the perfect sharing dish is the Poulet La Petite Maison (HKD1198) a whole Roast Black Leg Chicken with foie gras adds allure to any group dinner. Using the highest grade Black Leg Chicken from France, this tender and juicy meat is moreish-ly good thanks to a stuffing of foie gras and home-made baguette. Carved at the table, guests are encouraged to mop up the tender juices with bread.
For a limited time only this year, a French-take on the mooncake comes to Hong Kong, the La Petite Maison Mooncake (HKD188) created by Chef and his team of pastry masters meticulously bake these fresh in-house, using a traditional salted egg centre but with a French chestnut filling – all encased in French homemade pastry.
Another sweet to treat groups is the Tarte au Tatin (HKD188), a heavenly and famed French dessert, Chef caramelises Pink Lady apples in butter and sugar before baking, the end result is a dark and sticky dish with puff pastry, served piping hot in a traditional French cast iron dish, is served with a side of homemade vanilla ice cream for a sweet and cool finish.
La Petite Maison is not a typical French restaurant but is famed for its welcoming ambiance that encourages friends and family to linger and share special occasions and memories in a relaxed and stylish surround – reminiscent of being in Niçe in the South of France.
