(Hong Kong, 29 September 2016)
HandsOn Hong Kong’s annual fundraising event Drink For Good returns to Hong Kong for the fourth edition on Thursday, 6 October 2016. Over 60 bars and restaurants in Central, Soho, LKF, Wanchai, Quarry Bay, Kennedy Town and beyond support HandsOn Hong Kong by donating HKD5 or more for each drink purchased on the day. All donations go towards raising funds for HandsOn Hong Kong’s outing programs for children with special needs and other programs addressing pressing social needs in Hong Kong.
Drink for Good brings together Hong Kong’s best venues with a sponsor brand or corporation for a fun evening out that gives back to the community. Brand and corporate sponsors can “adopt” a venue for the night, creating meaningful networking events with colleagues and friends, and exclusive branding opportunities, at a cost of HKD2,000. Last year the event saw around 30 brands and corporate partners drink for a cause and spread the message. HandsOn Hong Kong is currently inviting brands and corporates for sponsorship opportunities.
The past three years have been a success, raising over HKD100,000 each year. In 2013, the funds from the event enabled 100 disabled youngsters to visit Ocean Park with the help of 159 volunteers. The following year’s funds made wishes come true for 500 children with special needs with 146 HandsOn Hong Kong caring volunteers. Last year, funds raised enabled HandsOn Hong Kong to organise 70 programs for 800 children with special needs with the support of 300 HandsOn Hong Kong volunteers.
"HandsOn Hong Kong is excited that this fun initiative is now in its fourth year! Drink for Good not only helps bring the community together in a fun, socially-engaging way, it also helps fund some of our very special projects benefiting children with disabilities. We are delighted to see venues and sponsors coming back year after year, making this truly a community event!” says Sue Toomey, Executive Director HandsOn Hong Kong.
“Women in Finance Asia are looking forward to supporting Drink for Good for the third time! A fantastic event where local businesses and organisations from all industries can come together to support a truly fantastic cause. Just one of the many great initiatives being organized by HandsOn Hong Kong – everyone should be involved!” says Beth Wright, Co-Chair of Women in Finance, Asia
“CBRE is firmly committed to giving back to the community and supporting those in need. Drink For Good continues to be a great way for CBRE to make a positive impact on the community in a fun and social atmosphere. CBRE supports the event not only as a sponsor but by also promoting the cause among our staff members, family and friends.” Tom Gaffney, Managing Director, CBRE Hong Kong, Macau & Taiwan.
For its fourth year, Drink For Good is delighted to once again partner and count on the support of sponsors and event supporters such as GH Mumm, HK Forum for Responsible Drinking, Peroni Italy, Lan Kwai Fong Association and Smart Drop.
