Say Oláto Uma Nota’s New Spring Menu

Presenting ten new Brazilian Japanese inspired dishes

From vibrant ceviches to larger plates for sharing and new dessert wonders

(Hong Kong, 6 May 2019) – As the temperature gauge continues to creep higher in Hong Kong, guests can chill at vibrant Brazilian Japanese street food restaurant Uma Nota. With ten new dishes ranging from vibrant ceviches, moreish tuna skewers and Brazilian Cheesecake made from fresh orange, ginger syrup and Brazil nuts, the bar has certainly been raised on bringing some new “Nipo-Brasileiro” flare to the bustling streets of Soho.

Lively, welcoming and committed to a sense of community within the venue, Chef Gustavo reflects Uma Nota’s distinctive character in the carefully balanced menu made up of light and bright raw dishes, authentic smaller plates, a selection of skewers, bigger sharing portions and satisfying desserts.

Paying homage to the spirit of Brazil, and a refreshingly light seafood dish, Chef Gustavo has created two new ceviche dishes, aiming to transport guests directly to the streets of São Paulo on a breezy spring evening. Ceviche Guayas (HK$175) combines spoonfuls of tender white fish with squid, shrimp, red onion, coriander mixed together with aji Amarillo sauce and topped with fried garlic. Alternatively, for more Asian inspired flavours, Ceviche Nikkei (HK$175) adds octopus and avocado to the fish, in a punchy base of rice vinegar, mirin, soy sauce, dashi and a squeeze of lime.

Also new to the I LIKE IT RAW menu; the Miso Tiradito (HK$150) dish sees white fish, thinly sliced and marinated in a miso based sauce with leche de tigre, topped with cashew nuts, chili, coriander and avocado to balance the savoury flavours.

New smaller dishes include; Croqueta de Linguiça (HK$75), succulent pork sausage croquettes, served with a wasabi and cucumber mayo and Polvo Teriyaki (HK$135), pan fried octopus and sweet potatoes in a homemade teriyaki sauce.

Known for the delicious array of skewers already gracing the menu like octopus, tender beef and juicy portobello mushroom, Uma Nota now adds Tuna Skewers (HK$115) to the menu. Marinated in aji Amarillo and chipotle sauce and served with sweet picked red onion, these skewers pack a flavor punch with each bite.

To share, the Robalo Assado em Folha de Bananeira (HK$290) is an authentic and hearty main consisting of an entire sea bass fillet, which Chef roasts inside a banana leaf along with fried banana, complimented by cassava farofa and a fresh salad of red onion, tomato, coriander and parsley.

Accompanying the sea bass dish on the SIZE MATTERS menu, Lombinho de Porco (HK$250) is a succulent pork tenderloin confit on a creamy bed of saikyo miso mashed potato, curiously topped with pickled fennel and crispy palmito.

Introducing entirely new dessert options, this menu offers two new dishes to complete the meal and send guests into the streets of Soho dreaming of more. Guests can choose from the Brazilian Cheesecake (HK$75), a popular dessert made with an UMA NOTA twist of fresh orange, ginger syrup and Brazil nut crumble; or the Black Sesame Mousse (HK$80), made with Japanese black sesame and white chocolate served with homemade meringue and fresh raspberries.

Available now, these new dishes are served alongside old favourites and signatures like the Coxinha de Frango (HK$85); deep fried Brazilian chicken and okra dumplings with a homemade chili sauce; the Fraldinha (HK$370) flank steak with farofa seasoning; and best enjoyed with classic Caipirinha cocktails (HK$95 - $100).
