Finland, the land of an thousand lakes, northern lights and nightless nights. More and more Hongkongers are attracted to discover this beautiful Nordic country. Comparing year 2016 to 2015 the number of the tourists from Hong Kong has risen by 39 per cent. The year earlier the increase was 32 per cent. The early figures of 2017 indicate this trend to continue.

On 9th of June Consulate General gave a sneak peak of Finnish summer parties for the local people with good music from from old legends to the hottest list hits. Not to forget the traditional Finnish food and games with local Finnish people.

Kyrö Distillery served their award-winning Napue gin & tonic with rosemary and cranberries which has become the (unofficial) new national drink of Finland.

Winter has traditionally been the number one pulling factor. Yes, Northern Finland is most definitely the winter wonderland with its pure, sparkling white snow, northern lights and Santa Clause.

Recently, Finnish summer has gained traction, too. Abundance of green and amount of light still surprises even the Finns themselves. Your body will respond to it with energy that carry you through the nightless night. Because in the summer, only few will sleep! Summers in Finland are filled with festivals that cater to any taste: from humorous, to sporty, to high brow cultural ones, with one example of each: Helsinki comedy festival 2017 – STAND UP ALEKSANTERI!,  Paavo Nurmi Games Festival and also Savonlinna Opera Festival.

This is definitely the right time to travel to explore Finland and Finnish summer. Because of the celebration of centenary, the country will be even more full of events and festivals than normally.
