[Beijing, PRC, 28 February, 2018] – Regent Beijing has announced the appointment of Uli S. Altrichter as new Resident Manager, marking the 44 year-old Austrian’s debut helming day-to-day operations for the luxury 5-star hotel.
Mr. Altrichter launched his hospitality career in 1996 on graduating with a Hospitality & Tourism Management degree in Munich, Germany.
He joined Hilton in Munich as a management trainee, rising through supervisory roles at Langham Hilton London, The Drake Hotel Chicago, Kempinski Hotel Frankfurt, Hilton Frankfurt and Hilton Bonn.
His first management appointment was in 2004, as Regional Programme Manager in the Americas for Hilton’s guest loyalty programme, HHonors.
In 2007 he was transferred to Mainz, as Cluster Director of Business Development for the two Hilton Hotels in the city, managing reservations, groups, conventions & events, public relations, sales and marketing.
Mr. Altrichter first extended his career to Asia in 2010, as Director of Business Development and a key member of the re-branding team for the takeover of Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk in Japan, Hilton’s largest hotel in the Asia-Pacific.
A short spell followed as Director of Business Development/Assistant General Manager at the newly-refurbished Hilton on the Park Melbourne, Australia before he decided to seek new challenges in China.
After obtaining a Cornell Master Certificate in Hospitality Management in 2012, he joined InterContinental Shanghai Expo, adjacent to the World Expo in Pudong as Director of Sales & Marketing,
An assignment followed with Starwood, as Director of Sales & Marketing for Sheraton Shanghai Hongkou, along with pre-opening support for W Hotel Beijing Chang’an, the brand’s second W Hotel in Mainland China.
Following a brief return to Germany in 2014, as Director of Sales & Marketing at InterContinental Berlin, he returned to China in 2015, joining Regent Beijing in his previous role as Director of Sales & Marketing – and now fulfills his 25-year ambition to helm a leading luxury 5-star hotel as Resident Manager.
Mr. Altrichter brings a solid track record as an innovative, resourceful and enthusiastic international hospitality professional with executive-level management experience in 5-star properties in Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
