Reasons to choose Southeastern Finland
Finland is the happiest country in the world for the fourth year in a row, according to The UN World Happiness Report. Finland lives up to its reputation and shows a good balance between work and leisure time, and the Finnish lifestyle promotes quality of life and happiness.
– We believe that the opportunity to balance work and leisure time is valued in Asia, too. The easy-going Finnish work culture combined with enjoying nature and time with family. Many people already know Finland as the country of tens of thousands of lakes. Saimaa, the largest lake of the country, is located right here in southeaster Finland. The water quality on Lake Saimaa is very good and there are countless islands and peninsulas to explore, says Mr. Lintunen.
– Finland and South Karelia region are famous for high quality green and environment technologies, both in university research and companies. In South Karelia, we have Greenreality network which brings together the local green technology experts and companies under the same umbrella and is thus easy to approach. We welcome the Japanese and Hongkonger professionals to Finland and provide a very good chance to have a deeper look into the possibilities here and build new professional green tech networks with the Finnish counterparts, Mr. Lintunen continues.
Programme for visa-free applicants
3 Months by Lake Saimaa, Finland programme is aimed at countries in Asia whose citizens do not need a visa to Finland. These countries are Japan and the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of China since the HKSAR passport holders have visa-free travel to Europe’s Schengen Area. Such individuals may stay in Finland for 90 days in a 180-day period.
