SINGAPORE – SEPTEMBER 10, 2019 – Oakwood®, a wholly owned subsidiary of Mapletree Investments (“Mapletree”), today announced its foray into the luxury hotel and serviced apartments segment in Australia with the signing of Oakwood Premier Melbourne. A testament to Oakwood’s rapid expansion plan in Australia, this signing follows the recent announcement of Oakwood Hotel & Apartments Dandenong in April 2019. Scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2022, Oakwood Premier Melbourne will be the preferred serviced residential address for executive leaders along the prestigious Southbank of Melbourne city at Fishermans Bend.
Set within a newly developed 40-storey tower, Oakwood Premier Melbourne will showcase a collection of 392 hotel rooms and serviced apartments. 154 hotel rooms will cater to transient travellers on short stays, while the remaining 238 studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments that range from 35 to 65 square metres, will offer comfort and quality to guests looking to reside mid- to long-term. Proposed facilities within Oakwood Premier Melbourne include an all-day dining restaurant, meeting venues, a lobby bar and fitness centre, as well as upscale retail spaces. Sky Bar Melbourne, a sky lounge offering spectacular views of the city, will take the evening tipple to new heights.
