漁農自然護理署（漁護署）剛發表最新的2014年度海豚監察報告[1]，發現在2014年4月至2015年3月的研究期間，中華白海豚在大嶼山西北面及東北面水域、即港珠澳大橋工程所在地的估計數目跌至2001年以來新低。世界自然基金會香港分會（WWF）相信此現象與港珠澳大橋工程有關，證明保護海豚及其棲息地的緩解措施無效，並強烈要求政府在展開機場第三跑道等其他填海工程前先進行「累計影響評估」。 ...

研究顯示加強保護海洋能大力推動海洋經濟 世界自然基金會香港分會促請將10%香港水域劃為海洋保護區

世界自然基金會(WWF)委託學術機構進行一項有關海洋保護區的最新研究，結果令人驚喜：增加對海洋的保護能增加就業、海洋資源及服務，回報遠比成本高。此研究在經濟學人智庫主辦的世界海洋峰會舉行期間發布，期望能影響各國政府數月後在聯合國的會議上就海洋議題為後世作出舉足輕重的決定。世界自然基金會香港分會確切認為香港必須加強保護海洋，以保障依靠海洋為生的人、包括漁業及旅遊業人士的生計。 該研究分析指出每投資一美元建設海洋保護區，便能在就業、海洋保護及漁業等方面有至少三美元的回報。 世界自然基金會全球總幹事Marco Lambertini表示﹕「海洋對我們的生命非常重要，我們要成為她的負責人及管理員。一個健康的海洋能保護我們的海岸、吸收大量的碳、創造就業及養育無數家庭。設置海洋保護區能令海洋生態變得健康的同時，更可創造經濟機遇。」 ...
